We focus on the phases that require deep expertise: migration design, tooling deployment, coexistence configuration, pilot execution, and technical leadership. Once the migration framework is proven and the pilot is complete, we provide knowledge transfer to your operations team or System Integrator so they can execute the bulk migration independently. We remain available for ongoing support, troubleshooting, and guidance throughout the execution phase, but the day-to-day operation of the migration tool is handled by your team. This model gives you senior-level migration expertise where it matters most — the architecture and setup — without paying specialist rates for the repetitive execution work. It also means we can support multiple clients concurrently, which keeps our skills sharp across a wide variety of scenarios.

We select tools based on the specific scenario rather than defaulting to a single product. We are certified in and work extensively with Quest's migration suite — including Migrator for Notes to Exchange, Coexistence Manager for Notes, Migration Manager for AD and Exchange, and On Demand Migration. We also have hands-on experience with Microsoft's native tools such as the Hybrid Configuration Wizard, Mailbox Replication Service, and Entra ID Connect. For most projects, the right approach is a combination of commercial tools and custom scripting tailored to the client's environment.

Absolutely — this is how most of our engagements work. We integrate into your existing project structure and collaborate directly with your internal teams or third-party providers. Our role is typically to provide the specialized migration expertise that complements your team's knowledge of the local environment, business processes, and end-user needs. We adapt to your project management methodology, communication tools, and reporting requirements.

While every project is different, most follow a similar structure:

• First, we conduct a discovery and assessment phase where we analyze your current environment, understand your business requirements and constraints, and identify potential risks. This typically involves technical workshops with your IT team.
• Next, we produce a migration design — a detailed plan covering the migration approach, tooling, coexistence strategy, scheduling, and rollback procedures.
• Once the design is approved, we move into implementation, validation and pilot: deploying the migration infrastructure, configuring coexistence between source and target environments, and running a controlled pilot migration with a representative group of users.
• We then carry out a knowledge transfer to your migration operations team or System Integrator, ensuring they are fully equipped to run the bulk migration independently using the tools and procedures we've established.
• During the bulk migration phase, your team executes the full-scale migration in planned waves while we provide ongoing support — available to troubleshoot issues, handle edge cases, and adjust the approach as needed.

The duration of our direct involvement depends on the project scope — typically a few days to a few weeks for the design-through-pilot phases — while the bulk execution timeline depends on the scale and is managed by your operations team.

We have delivered projects across Europe, the Americas, and the Middle East. We work mainly remotely, but we also offer an on-site option, depending on the project phase and client preference.
